I'll have a look at this.

I suppose I can draw a schematic for that. I downloaded the datasheet but wasn't able to view it as acrobat reader complained about some missing japanese language support. I'll see what I can do for that.

The pinout in the lower one is enough to draw the schematic but I can't say anything about the backlight. Also there might be some interesting information in the datasheet.

i foundet out, that the backlight works with +5V. so this is no problem. i think that the backlight and the lcd need only 5V.

EDIT: Information below is wrong. Check following posts for explanation.
______

Now that I looked at the datasheet more carefully I noticed that the pinout is same as for the earlier display:

I didn't notice anything mentioned about the FS and MD pins.

I also have a paper copy of the specs so here are the backlight specifications:

Voltage: 4.1v (typ) 3.7v (min) 4.4v (max)
Current: 650mA

So you need some resistor for the backlight as 5v is too much. Calculating with those values I got 1.5 ohm for the resistor but I'd recommend trying with about 3 ohm at first and then smaller value if that's not bright enough (or larger value if the backlight becomes too hot).

thank you!

another question: which pin at the lpt is pin 1?

Vcc-Vee is in range of 23..26 V so you need a negative voltage for LCD drive of -18,5..-20,5 V. At page 9 is Example of Power Supply.

I looked at the datasheet again and I think you are right. I mistakenly thought that the display had the negative voltage converter circuit onboard.

So now it looks like some negative voltage source is needed to get this display working. Here was some circuits: http://www.skippari.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=63

In the schematic picture is the lpt connector that plugs to the computer.

If I read the datasheet right that would be to the VEE pin so that the VADJ pin gets the voltage also through the potentiometer.

So just like in the schematic, just connect the -20v source to the VEE pin.
